This right here should be the end of Donald Trump
Donald Trump opened his press conference today by meekly acknowledging that he knows he can’t get away with firing Dr. Fauci, the latest reminder that Trump is a politically crippled mess who can’t do anything but whine, yell, make empty threats, and carry out small time grifts. Then Trump went on to really remind us of how far gone he is.
At one point Trump yelled “You know you’re a fake” at a reporter. At another point he aired a lengthy and largely incoherent propaganda video that prompted major TV networks to cut him off for a length of time. By the time Trump was falsely claiming that the President of the United States has absolute authority over the individual states, CNN was flatly declaring “TRUMP MELTS DOWN” in the chyron at the bottom of the screen.
What we saw from Donald Trump today is that he’s equal parts maniacally deranged, dangerously incompetent, 100% unfit for office, and completely unable and unwilling to even try to do the job. Moreover, this wasn’t just Trump having a bad day. This is what we’re seeing from him every day, except he keeps getting worse.
Mike Pence and the cabinet could use the 25th Amendment to remove Donald Trump right now. The Republican Senate could have used impeachment to remove Trump, and still could if it wanted to. These people are all committing treason against the United States by refusing to remove Trump. We’ll just have to do it in November by voting Joe Biden into office. Once that happens, everyone who refused to remove Trump must be criminally prosecuted alongside him. Today was the last straw. Pence and Trump’s other enablers can rot in solitary confinement alongside Trump. No one gets off the hook. Not one of them.
