As it gets closer to the midterms and we all get more excited, it’s essential to know the various races and try our best to win the ones that look winnable. I have Georgia on my mind today, friends and readers. I have Senator Raphael Warnock on my mind.

Raphael Gamaliel Warnock is currently serving as one of Georgia’s Senators. And in the short time he’s been in the Senate, he has shown himself to be one of our best.

Warnock grew up in public housing in Savannah, Georgia. His dad was a preacher, and Warnock served as a senior Pastor for many years.

Elected in the Georgia Special election that Democrats were told they couldn’t win, Warnock won and has become known as one of the most popular and hard-working Senators in office today.

Warnock currently sits on the Agriculture and Nutrition committee, the Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, the Joint Economic Committee, and other committees. That says something about his work ethic. People have come to know him and love him. He is one of the best communicators we have and has shown himself to be utterly selfless in his work. And he’s in a tight race.

Now, Warnock leads in most polls. But the race has tightened and the person put forth by Republicans — Herschel Walker — is not fit to be a Senator. Walker has daily gaffes. His latest one was to appear on Fox non-news on 9/11 and give a rambling non-statement: “You know, it was a war with a country that didn’t believe in it. And right now, we have leaders in Washington like Joe Biden doing venomous speeches that doesn’t believe in American people.”

Oh, man. Even writing that out gave me a headache. Georgia needs some tender loving care. It only just became a purple state, and PURPLE IT MUST STAY. So if you’re seeking a race to get involved in — think about phone banking for Senator Warnock. We MUST keep this seat. I ask you to keep Georgia on your mind as we progress in the coming weeks.
