This one is for all the marbles

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The filibuster has been spoken about so much in regards to Democrats. But what about Republicans? What do they think of the filibuster? I witnessed a conversation about this very subject between CNN’S Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo in their television hand-off. And they agree on the answer. I, too, agree with it.

Right now, the GOP is squawking in anger at the thought of the Democrats ever getting rid of the filibuster. The GOP has the appropriate facial expressions. Their eyes turn to slits. Their mouths quiver in pretend righteousness as they vigorously defend the filibuster. Such indignation!

Yet if the GOP took the House and Senate? One of their first moves would be to get rid of the filibuster. The Republicans are limitless in their hypocrisy. There is virtually nothing they would NOT do. Does anybody REALLY believe that if they gained control by some nightmarish scenario, one of their first moves would not be to eliminate the filibuster?

Why would they do this? Because they can. Through the years, there have always been lies and dirty tricks in politics. But there has never been this level of despicable hypocrisy and criminality from the GOP that we see now. So this is yet another reason why the 2022 midterms will be of historical importance. It is up to us to help Democrats and never let Republicans grab power again.
