This latest Ted Cruz stunt isn’t going anywhere
The media keeps stressing that if Ted Cruz and the others go through with this January 6th stunt, it’ll “delay” President Biden’s certification. What they conveniently leave out is that it would only “delay” it by a few hours. The media is trying to scare you over nothing, just to get ratings around an essentially imaginary stunt that will have literally zero impact on anything.
Meanwhile, it’s the Republicans who are set to incur damage on January 6th, if anyone. Certain far right turds like Cruz and Josh Hawley are looking to use the stunt to score cheap partisan points back home in their states and districts. But the forced vote is going to put a number of Republicans from moderate districts in a real pickle – and we’ll get to use it against them in 2022.
As the media continues to try to build up January 6th into some big scary thing that it’s not, we have to be careful. I’ve seen some liberal activists become so afraid that Trump is going to somehow magically overturn the election on January 6th, they’re actually going so far as to criticize Democrats leaders for not having a “plan” for fighting back. This is reaching a point of hallucination. If you’re worried about January 6th at all, you need to turn off cable news immediately, because you’ve completely lost the plot.
