This keeps looking bleaker for Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump’s hopes of taking back the White House are looking bleaker. Not only does he need to try to somehow tarnish President Biden’s record, but according to Newsweek, Republicans are out to get rid of him. Trump isn’t doing nearly as well in the polls as he would have everyone believe.

Trump is the Republican nominee, but that’s not going to help him in the general election if Republicans are voting against him or sitting home and not voting at all. Those Republicans who supported Nikki Haley have been clear that they will never vote for Trump. Some have even said they would vote for President Biden over Trump. Newsweek found that while Trump won Wisconsin, Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island, Republicans in all states voted for people who were no longer in the race. In Wisconsin, 12.8% and 3.3% of the vote went to Haley and DeSantis, respectively. That’s more than enough to do Trump in during the general election. He lost votes badly in New York, with 20% voting against him. Scott Lucas, a professor of International Politics at the University College Dublin, told Newsweek: “Nikki Haley stayed in the race not because she thought she could win it, but she stayed in it for Super Tuesday because a lot … of Republican donors are very unsettled about Donald Trump.” As they should be. Trump is volatile, and these donors are concerned about his impact on both foreign and domestic issues. This isn’t all Trump needs to worry about.

Axios reported that George Conway will be heading up a fundraiser for President Biden. You read that right. Not only that, but he has already donated $929,600 to the Biden Victory Fund. Conway is serious about keeping Trump out of office, and so are some in Nebraska where Trumped backed the bid of other Republicans to make Nebraska a “winner takes all” system. Republicans control the legislature in Nebraska, but 36 of them voted to block the bill. Democratic state Senator John Fredrickson wrote on X: “The Nebraska Legislature answers to the voters of Nebraska, not Charlie Kirk or Donald Trump.” Why people aren’t seeing what’s happening in the country is puzzling.

President Biden has turned this economy around. Trump can call it a “cesspool” all he wants, but the numbers don’t lie. Biden said on NBC’s “Today” earlier this week that: “America has the best economy in the world.” The numbers back him up. Inflation has fallen from the 2022 highs, and the GDP has grown 2.5%. Moody’s chief economist Mark Zandi told MSNBC: “The U.S. economy is leading the way for the global economy. It’s driving the global economic train.” The stock market has made gains, and housing values have soared. In Zandi’s view: “The economy is picture perfect. It’s hard to argue with it.” There goes another flop for Trump. His criminal cases aren’t going his way either, which we will cover in greater detail later. Whether it’s the economy, people coming to their senses, or criminal charges, we will be rid of Donald Trump in one way or another.
