This is just sad
It’s a new week, the verge of a new month, and yet it’s just the same old crap but worse. After two and a half years of humiliating America in ways that no one would have thought possible, Donald Trump somehow managed to sink to a whole new low these past few days, which you’d think at some point would no longer be physically possible. But don’t worry, because Trump is about to have the kind of bad week he deserves.
How do we know? Well, for one thing, Judge Emmet Sullivan has given William Barr and his DOJ until this Friday to publicly release every bit of the redacted Mueller report that relates to Michael Flynn in any way. Suffice it to say that the courts have more immediate, strong, and clearly defined capabilities than Congress does when it comes to punishing those held in contempt. This judge has already shown so much open frustration with every aspect of this case, he’ll drop the hammer if Barr doesn’t comply – and Barr knows it. So we’re about to learn some things that Trump really doesn’t want us to know about. But that’s just the half of it.
Last week Trump lost two key court rulings in his battle with House Democrats over the evidence and testimony against him. Considering how thoroughly the court system is rooted in precedent, this means Trump is likely to lose every one of these rulings going forward. It’s also a fairly strong signal to the witnesses who have been subpoenaed to testify against him that they’re eventually going to end up in handcuffs if they don’t show up and indeed testify.
Of course this all comes amid a backdrop of Donald Trump having traveled overseas just so he could publicly side with murderous North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un over former United States Vice President Joe Biden. This piece of crap Trump just keeps finding new ways to sink even lower. But in his race to the bottom, Trump should keep in mind that he’s losing this battle every step of the way.
