Donald Trump is still publicly defending Pete Hegseth in the Signal-gate scandal, and even confusedly insisting that Hegseth wasn’t involved in it at all. But others in the Trump regime seem intent on trying to make the scandal go away by blaming it all on Hegseth and forcing him out. Hegseth, for his part, isn’t helping his case.
After a series of bizarre efforts at spin that were quickly disproven, Hegseth is now reduced to arguing that there’s a difference between “war plans” and “attack plans.” That doesn’t matter, since the information was automatically classified either way. Now it’s gotten even worse for him.
It turns out Pete Hegseth texted the Signal group chat that he didn’t want to wait to carry out the military attack in question, because he was afraid it would leak beforehand. What Hegseth didn’t realize is that he was leaking the military attack while saying he was afraid it would leak. That’s how brainless Hegseth is. It’s still not clear how this is going to play out, but this scandal keeps getting worse for Trump and his henchmen by the day.
