This isn’t working out for Donald Trump
For four long years, the pathetic wanna-be emperor conducted a reign of terror. Now he is out of office and out of power, and he is fuming. And he wants payback badly. Only things are not working out quite the way assolini hoped that they would. As he huddles in self-containment in the prison of Mar-A-Lago, he likely waits for news of the demise of his enemies.
But alas, this news is not coming. Instead, what the insurrectionist hears is silence. The sound of silence. The sound of silence is actually quite deafening in its eternal quiet. You see, the world is forgetting about him. People are moving on with their lives. How the silence must be draining him.
At this minute, Trump is attempting to bring down Mitch McConnell — also fondly known to many of us as “Moscow Mitch.” Only it isn’t working. Republicans aren’t listening to this one.
Per Newsweek, Mitt Romney has come out against the idea of toppling McConnell. And with a few exceptions (I’m looking at you, Lindsey Graham), nobody else appears to be giving the idea much weight.
Now I despise McConnell as much as you do, but as Trump pleads to be heard, there is something inherently satisfying in the unresponsive and impervious sounds of silence. Trump is also supporting many alt-right candidates who are not doing well in the polls. His attempt to destroy Senator Lisa Murkowski doesn’t appear to be working either.
And his poll numbers are sinking. New polling shows Republicans aren’t as enthusiastic to see Trump as their 2024 nominee as they were. And a new poll out from Redfield & Wilton Strategies shows in a hypothetical matchup between Biden and Trump — Biden wins.
Please be clear — Trump isn’t running in 2024. But what all of this does is show that the traitor’s evil plans aren’t working. He has failed in this as with everything else he touches. The orange mess will continue to sit and ruminate as time ticks away. Tick-Tick. But very few in the audience care to hear him. That’s why the sound of silence will only deepen.
