This isn’t going to work for Greg Abbott

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Governor Greg Abbott (liar, insurrection party, Texas) is proudly touting a non-idea that he appears to think will help him win reelection. This is an idea called “The Parental Bill Of Rights.” You see where this is going, do you not?

This proposal would, according to Abbott, increase parents’ ability to make decisions about what their children are taught in schools. It would also protect students from being exposed to “harmful and obscene content” at schools.

Beaming with artificial pride, Abbott revealed this “Bill Of Rights” during a stop in Lewisville. In reality, this “Bill” is a piece of garbage signed by a flailing candidate who appears terrified of his challenger — Mr. Beto O’Rourke.

It appears evident to me that the act of inflaming worried parents over non-existent areas of parental concern is going to be a focus of GOP members going forward. After all, there is nothing like fear and smear tactics to get out the vote — especially when you don’t have anything else.

We should prepare for Abbott to continue his lies going forward and for his bizarre antics to become even more contemptuous. Beto’s numbers are rising, he is raising millions, and he has a real chance. Abbott is deeply unpopular, and he will only get more if we keep shining the spotlight on his horrible and failed leadership.
