This is what joy looks like
The DNC has ended, but the joy is still with us. We need to keep the momentum going until November. It’s not going to be that difficult, especially as we watch Donald Trump slide further into insanity. When you compare Kamala Harris and Tim Walz’s interactions with people to Trump and JD Vance’s, there is no contest. Virtually all the YouTubers have been showing JD Vance in a donut shop somewhere in Georgia, and it is pathetic. First, the girl behind the counter makes clear that she does not want to be in their videos. You can hear JD Vance tell him cameraman, “We can cut her out later.” When he tries to interact with the workers, you get a true feeling that he’s just not likeable. As bad as Trump and Vance are, they have now been joined by worse-RFK, Jr., who was in the race to help Trump anyway. He helps him more by dropping out because he was taking Trump’s votes, not Democrats. Not that any of this matters. Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are what’s best for our country going forward.
Vance Cariaga is an economist. He believes that Americans should trust Kamala Harris to competently handle the economy. He writes for an outfit called GOBankingRates, which ran its own survey asking who people think will do the best job of dealing with inflation. Harris bests Trump in that poll 43.63% to 39.44%. Cariaga then lays out four reasons that we should trust Harris. First, Harris knows what’s at stake, and she knows how to clearly communicate the intentions of her administration to tackle the problems. When people understand, it is easier to trust a leader. Second, she has already articulated her plan to battle price gougers, which they are obviously doing when you look at their profits. Third, Harris understands tariffs and has no interest in them. That’s Trump’s go-to, though he doesn’t understand how tariffs work. All he will do is increase already high prices. Cariaga confirmed that because of Trump’s misunderstanding of tariffs and his plans with respect to immigrants, both will ultimately increase inflation. Finally, with inflation already heading in the right direction, Harris’s plans will help to keep it down. This all explains why Harris is leading on the issue of the economy. Trump has yet to articulate one decipherable plan. In fact, Trump seems to be falling apart.
Trump simply isn’t used to the love and happiness being spread by Democrats. He doesn’t know what to do with it. He’s also still bothered to no end by the word “weird.” If we had known it would be this simple to knock him off his perch, we would have done it a long time ago. Thanks, Tim Walz. Trump is well overdue for a lesson in humanity. He probably feels like the Wicked Witch of the West, who was extinguished by water. Love does the same thing to Trump. Trump is going to lose, and he knows it. It will be so refreshing to have one with Kamala Harris’s vitality in the White House, one who genuinely cares about all of us and not herself.
