This is sick, even for Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

This week the House is set to start releasing the testimony transcripts from the impeachment witnesses who have testified against Donald Trump thus far. One of the most crucial witnesses has been U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, who blew the lid off the Trump White House conspiracy to alter and bury the Trump-Ukraine phone call transcripts.

Colonel Vindman’s testimony is likely to have a major impact on public opinion, both because he’s a first-hand witness and because he’s a respected military officer. In a last ditch effort at trying to blunt the impact of the release of the Vindman transcript, Donald Trump is now threatening to release unspecified personal information about Vindman.

Trump isn’t even being coy about it. He’s flat out telling the television cameras that he’s planning to commit witness intimidation and several other felonies. We have no idea if Trump is serious about this, but it would be sick even for him. It’s the kind of over-the-top move that could end up backfiring spectacularly against him, depending on how it’s received by the public.

Donald Trump continues to appear to believe that he can somehow magically save himself simply by pandering to his deranged base alone. Back in the real world, Trump’s base isn’t even close to being large enough to save him. He needs to remain in the good graces of his more passive supporters outside his base – something he’s failing at rather miserably.
