This is just ugly for Mitch McConnell
Polls are just snapshots in time. All they tell us is how people feel AT THIS MOMENT. And no poll is perfect. But I feel the need to highlight one poll because its results are pretty celebratory indeed — and we need a bit of a celebration.
Gallup did a poll where they asked people who they approved and disapproved of. There was a long list of names. Some of the people featured include Kevin McCarthy, Nancy Pelosi, Justice John Roberts, and Moscow Mitch McConnell.
The results show an overwhelming amount of the American people — 52% — approve of the job that Dr. Anthony Fauci is doing.
In fact, he was among the most approved of the folks on this list; Justice John Roberts surprisingly took first place.
This shows, at least for now, that for all the public smearing the GOP is doing of Fauci, it isn’t working – at least not with Independents. The truth is Dr. Fauci is an American hero who has been under attack by the right for a long time. Luckily, the only people who seem to dislike Fauci are election deniers and Fox non- news watchers.
In terms of Roberts — this is also good news for the Democrats. Look, we may not love Roberts, but the fact is he does vote with our side, some of the time. I’d much rather him than Kavanaugh or Barrett. And last and certainly least — is the best news of all. Who do you think got the WORST approval ratings?
I’ll give you a wee bit of a hint — he’s a Republican, also known as a turtle whose nickname starts with Moscow. That’s right, folks, McConnell was dead last in popularity — scoring a red-hot 63% disapproval rating. The country seems united in the fact that nobody can stand him.
Finally, we have found something Moscow Mitch is good at. Like I said — just a moment in time. Still, this is good news. Congrats Dr. Fauci. This gives me hope in the American people yet.
