This is just UGLY for Donald Trump
Donald Trump won most of the Super Tuesday states today, and he’s on track to end up with the majority of the Republican primary delegates. We’re going to hear a lot about how he’s a lock to be the nominee, and how he’s in the driver’s seat.
But while Trump is getting the majority of the Republican primary vote, he has a real problem when it comes to the Republicans who are voting against him. Check out these numbers:

For all the rhetoric we’ve heard about how Donald Trump’s base is the Republican base, it’s just not true. It’s never been true. All along, the polls have said that Trump would get no more than about 55% of the Republican primary vote, and that the other 45% would emphatically vote for anyone but Trump. Now we’re seeing that playing out in actual voting – and the people voting against Trump in the primary are making clear that they have no interest in voting for him in the general election.
So if the Republican National Convention really does want to go through with nominating a senile convicted criminal who’s going to struggle badly in the general election to get Republicans outside his base to vote for him, then so be it.
