This is just plain weird
Over the past week we’ve seen an utterly surreal thing play out. Donald Trump has completely disappeared from public view and from social media. There have been a few posts on Truth Social, but they were all just generic announcements posted by his babysitters. Although the media has completely ignored it, Trump’s disappearing act is a huge story – particularly given his visibly poor health and advanced dementia.
Now Trump has finally posted a few things to social media. He announced idiotic tariffs against Canada and Mexico. Then he announced idiotic tariffs against China. Then he ranted about the New York Times. But all three posts were generic in nature and felt like they were ghostwritten by someone else.
So no, these recent posts don’t count when it comes to Trump proving that he’s still alive and kicking and conscious and upright. This is all starting to feel like one thinly veiled coverup.
Recently we wondered aloud whether we should be asking for proof of life from Donald Trump. Remember when a local CBS News affiliate reported that a pair of ambulances and a Secret Service detail were seen leaving Mar-a-Lago, and then the national media reported that it was somehow just JD Vance’s motorcade? Donald Trump has been seen or heard from since. This is just plain weird.
