This new Quinnipiac poll is jaw dropping
No one is expecting Donald Trump to have strong poll numbers right now. When you consider his worsening scandals, his increasingly deranged behavior, and his failed handling of the coronavirus and racial issues, poor numbers are expected for him. But this latest poll is remarkably bad even by Trump’s worsening expectations.

The new Quinnipiac has Joe Biden fifteen points ahead of Donald Trump nationwide. These are the kinds of margins that, in theory, shouldn’t even exist in a presidential general election. This same poll says that Trump’s approval rating is at 36% and his disapproval rating is at 60%, putting him twenty-four points underwater.
These numbers are jaw dropping. We’re at the point where, if the RNC weren’t so attached at the hip to Trump, we’d be expecting the party to force him out of the race in favor of another candidate who might have a less-awful chance of winning.
Of course other polls say Trump isn’t losing quite this badly. On average the polls have him down by around ten points nationwide. The thing to watch is whether the other major polls also show Biden’s lead expanding once they’re updated in the coming days. But wow are these Quinnipiac numbers ever ugly for Trump.
