This is just humiliating for Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth

Donald Trump is still trying to get Fox News host and alleged sexual predator Pete Hegseth confirmed as Secretary of Defense. It’s still difficult to tell whether or not it’ll happen. The Republican Senate has already taken the Matt Gaetz nomination away from Trump, but Hegseth is a wildcard.

In the meantime Hegseth’s Senate confirmation hearings are playing out in public view, and they’re about as embarrassing as expected. Hegseth was asked some basic terminology questions that anyone with a basic defense background should know, and he failed miserably. He didn’t even know which nations were considered to be in which alliance group.

It’s clear that Hegseth either didn’t do a lick of homework for these hearings, or he’s too dumb to retain what he did study. There’s something really embarrassing about the fact that Trump is still going through with this fledgling attempt at a nomination. Trump could be focusing on his corrupt agenda. Instead he’s stuck trying to help losers like Hegseth limp over the finish line.
