This is idiotic, even for Lauren Boebert
At this point our expectations for House Republican Lauren Boebert are so low, we didn’t think she could find a way to force us to lower them even further. And yet here we are. Now that the House has taken up common sense gun legislation, Republicans behaving like idiots about it. Boebert may have just taken the cake.
Lauren Boebert tweeted this: “What amendment will Democrats go after next? They just obliterated the Second. I wonder if the 19th is safe at this point.” Wait a minute, what? When did the Democrats “obliterate” the Second Amendment? We just checked, and it’s still there. No one has repealed it. But the real idiocy here is Boebert’s attempt at tying this to the 19th Amendment.
That’s right, Boebert now wants you to believe that Democrats are going to repeal the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote. Not only is this false, it’s laughably nonsensical. Far more women vote Democrat than Republican, so even if the Democrats were the evil mustache twirling villains that Boebert wants to pretend they are, why would they repeal an amendment that helps them win elections? This is idiotic, even for her.
