This is how we take Donald Trump down

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump is behind Joe Biden by eight points in the national polling averages, and he’s behind Biden in every single swing state. But we all know Trump is going to use every possible antic to try to cheat his way into contention, and so we’ll have to treat this like a close race, and try to run up the score against him just in case. So how do we do it?

Enter Congresswoman Katie Porter. She showed us the way yesterday. She appeared on MSNBC to speak about the latest financial corruption she’s fighting back against. But because Bernie Sanders had just dropped out of the race, and Joe Biden had just become the nominee, she was asked whether she was going to endorse Biden. So even though she had been an Elizabeth Warren endorser, she went ahead and endorsed Biden right on the spot.

Yes, Biden is the only candidate left, and yes, Porter was going to end up endorsing him one way or the other. But she wasted no time at all. She didn’t seek any fanfare for herself. She didn’t resort to the “Biden has to earn my vote” silliness that less serious people like to narcissistically cling to. Instead, she cited Biden’s career-long efforts at getting dirty money out of politics as her reason for supporting him. That’s right, like an adult, Katie Porter did her own homework on Biden, and found what she liked about him, instead of playing games about it.

We’re in the midst of a deadly pandemic, and our country is in the hands of an incompetent psychopath who’s trying to destroy everything we care about. This isn’t a time for ego, or pomp and circumstance, or “what’s in it for me?” This is a time for adult behavior. It’s time for us all to grow up and start acting like Katie Porter. That’s how we take Trump down in November.
