This is going to get under Trump’s skin

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $3760 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,

As of this week, President Biden is on track to appoint more judges in his first term than Donald Trump did during his first – seeing to it that the Senate keeps pushing the appointments right up until their term expires at the end of the year and leadership changes. This makes it that much more difficult for Donald Trump to implement the worst of his agenda – as his administration previously had a 78% record of failure in court – before any of the more liberal-leaning federal judges appointed by President Biden took the bench.

Donald Trump took advantage of an indignant Senate that refused to appoint any judges to the federal circuits when President Obama was in office – leaving large vacancies for the next time Republicans took the White House, only to fast track nominations once the GOP was in charge again. Now, seven years later, he doesn’t have that advantage – with now three federal judges taking on senior status rather than retiring – meaning they’re going to still be around awhile.

You know this is getting under the GOP’s skin because they’re largely admitting it – with Mitch McConnell crying about democracy all of a sudden when he wasn’t getting his way. There’s likely going to be more to follow in the weeks ahead – giving Donald Trump yet another embarrassing setback before he’s even back in the Oval Office.
