The Associated Press reported that the House GOP sued to force DOJ lawyers to testify in their impeachment inquiry into President Biden. The lawyers they want to testify were involved in the criminal investigation of Hunter Biden. What that has to do with any wrongdoing by the president is a mystery, but nothing seems to matter to Republicans. They don’t want the truth; they want chaos. Their impeachment investigation is over. Just a few days ago, the Washington Post reported that White House counsel told Mike Johnson that it is “obviously time to move on.” One might think they didn’t need to be told the obvious, but when you’re dealing with Republicans, you must treat them like children and keep repeating yourself. They have been on this investigation for months, and it has turned up nothing. Even though several Republicans have made it known that they have no intention of joining this charade, the far-right Republicans continue. Perhaps it all boils down to how much embarrassment they can withstand.

In response, Mike Johnson said: “It is not surprising that the White House would prefer to close the ongoing House inquiry which has uncovered that the Biden family and their associates received over $20 million from foreign sources, and that President Biden has lied repeatedly.” Yep. They like being embarrassed. They have uncovered no such thing, and President Biden has lied about nothing. They are just being asses, and they’re not interested in the truth as evidenced by their pulling of a motion to subpoena Jared Kushner. Now, there’s someone who took advantage of his time in the White House. Media outlets reported that when he left office, Kusher received an over $2 billion investment to his private equity firm from Affinity Partners. That fund is headed up by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Trump was never hard on Salman after the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and even though he wasn’t directly involved in the assassination, we all know he ordered it. Trump just brushed the whole thing under the rug. Perhaps that $2 billion to Kushner was a payback. Either way, that windfall is something worth investigating, and Republicans won’t do it.

The worst two Republicans-Jim Jordan and James Comer-quashed the subpoena according to Newsweek. This money is an oft-discussed issue among Democrats, but Republicans continue to ignore it. It is amazing how they are looking for something on President Biden when they have this issue right in their faces. It makes you wonder, doesn’t it? Trump’s businesses also received millions while he was in office, though nothing is made of that issue. House Republicans are pathetic. If they really wanted the truth, they would investigate these issues. Instead, they continue to waste taxpayer dollars on an investigation that is going nowhere. Jordan claimed that Kushner “had a positive impact on diplomacy” and that “Democrats don’t want to admit that.” Whatever, dude. The fact remains that Kushner benefitted from foreign funds as did Trump. Jordan will say anything to justify his one-sided investigations.
