This is going absolutely nowhere
For most of the past six decades, the GOP’s policies have been out of step with the average American. It’s only been recently that the candidates have been just as vile as their end goals that it’s been costing them dearly in elections. Their only real reason for actually winning a four seat majority is because a few voters actually thought the same party that prides itself on doing nothing would somehow tackle inflation that was already going down because of policies the Republicans voted against.
So now that they’re about to gain power you’d think Republicans would at least pretend to still be worried about inflation or even putting forward ways to reduce it. Instead, they’ve mostly dropped all talk of it while threatening to ramp up their investigations of Hunter Biden, a private citizen. The problem is that this investigation only has 5% support with the general public and it’s almost exclusively with Republicans.
To put it in perspective, this ranked seventh among top domestic issues for Americans – and President Clinton’s scandals with Monica Lewinsky had support in the low 30s. If Republicans push this tomfoolery, they’ll almost certainly bleed support. This is why we need to vote them out at every opportunity in 2023 and 2024.
