This is for all the marbles

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

We’ve known for several weeks that the Republican Senate was likely to ram through an illegitimate far right Supreme Court nominee before Election Day. In that regard, nothing has changed. But it serves as a reminder that it’s not enough to simply win the election; we have to win it big.

Right now there are a number of hypothetical doomsday scenarios being floated about the Supreme Court stepping in and deciding the election. It this possible? Sure. It happened in 2000. But that was because it came down to a few hundred votes to begin with. In an election that’s not close to begin with, the Supreme Court has no role to play, regardless of who might be on it.

So this election is going to come down entirely to turnout. If we spend this final week staring at the TV and/or fretting all day about the outcome, then sure, it might end up being close enough for the court to meddle in. But if we spend this final week focused on turnout, we’ll win by a large enough margin that it can’t be messed with. This is for all the marbles. Go volunteer for the Joe Biden campaign right now.
