This is embarrassing, even for Donald Trump
By now we’ve come to expect the very worst from Donald Trump. Whatever the most embarrassing, inept, villainous, creepiest response to any given situation might be, that’s the one that Trump is going to go with. Yet this time around, Trump has managed to come up with a response that’s embarrassing even by his total lack of standards.
Earlier today there was a deadly mass shooting in the area of Odessa, Texas. It’s the second such mass shooting in the state of Texas this month, and it has the nation on edge. So how is “President” Donald Trump responding to the crisis?
Trump posted this tweet: “Just briefed by Attorney General Barr about the shootings in Texas. FBI and Law Enforcement is fully engaged. More to follow.” Really? This is all he’s got? For one thing, he didn’t write this. We all know he was either out on the golf course, or in bed flipping the channel in the hope of finding a TV pundit who’s saying nice things about him.
Even if Donald Trump had written this, it’s completely devoid of any semblance of leadership. It sounds like a robot wrote it. The clown couldn’t even manage to spout the customary “thoughts and prayers” nonsense this time around. As Trump’s presidency circles the drain, he’s simply mailing it in. It’s time for the scumbag to mail in his resignation.
