This is devastating for Donald Trump
Donald Trump’s babysitters keep trying to figure out which of his public campaign events he can still handle in his rapidly worsening dementia-addled condition, and which of his events to cancel. The trouble: Trump has now become so cognitively incompetent, it doesn’t appear there’s anything he can do anymore.
Trump’s babysitters let him hold a rally in Pennsylvania today, probably figuring that Trump is likely to do his best if he’s allowed to simply ramble like usual. But things took a bizarre turn when Trump spent the first ten minutes of his rally speaking incoherently about pro golfer Arnold Palmer, only to end up telling a story about other golfers being impressed with his dick when they were in the shower with him. No really, Trump said this.
I’ve been waiting to see how the major media outlets would handle this. The New York Times, as expected, tried to sanewash Trump’s debacle and merely said that he was talking about Arnold Palmer. But other major news outlets are going there. For instance the Associated Press went with this headline tonight: “Trump kicks off a Pennsylvania rally by talking about Arnold Palmer’s genitalia.”
This is where it gets truly ugly for Trump. No one outside his base watches his rallies. Persuadable voters only hear about Trump’s rallies through media major headlines. And now, because Trump couldn’t even stick to his usual rambling about sharks and batteries, those voters are going to spend the weekend seeing headlines about Trump talking about, well, Arnold Palmer’s genitalia. That’s devastating for Trump.
