This is a tidal wave
If President Biden’s decision to end his candidacy had been followed by an ugly fight for the nomination, complete with hard feelings, the Democrats would have been in real trouble. But Biden’s savvy decision to immediately endorse VP Kamala Harris prompted Democrats to quickly rally around her, and it’s created real momentum and unity. Now it’s also unleashed a tidal wave.
Even as Democratic leaders across the nation race to support Kamala Harris for President, small dollar donations are pouring in at a historic level. About $100 million in small dollar amounts has been donated via ActBlue in the past 24 hours, a clear sign of enthusiasm among the Democratic base. And as for the big ticket donors, Abigail Disney has reportedly begun donating to Kamala Harris.
How strong is Kamala Harris’ momentum? After everyone’ least favorite Democrat Joe Manchin leaked yesterday that he might consider pursuing the Democratic nomination at the convention, he confirmed today that he will not be doing so. And why would he bother? The Democrats have spoken, and more importantly, the people are speaking with their small dollar donations. This is a tidal wave.
But keep in mind that this is only day two of a hundred-plus day election cycle. The media is portraying Kamala Harris’ candidacy as an inspiring story now. But in a week or three, the media will surely start trying to get ratings by stirring up phony Kamala scandals, or falsely paint her as being in trouble. That’s why it’ll be so crucial that we rally behind her and set the narrative ourselves. So let’s go win this. Donate to Palmer Report via PayPal or GoFundMe.
