This is a screwed up mess in Ohio

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The other day I had the pleasure of witnessing a conversation between several people from the great state of Ohio. These people were Democrats and moderate independents. They were talking about how red Ohio has become. And they were speaking of their desire to turn it back to purple.

In its own way, Ohio IS purple. After all, we have the best of the best there — Senator Sherrod Brown. And one thing we can and must do is get this great Senator re-elected. I donate to him, and anybody who has the money should also think about doing so.

Senator Brown cares about women. He will make sure if reelected, that he stands up for a woman’s right to choose. Unlike his competitor.

As of now, several people are in competition to be the Republican who faces off against Brown. To that end, all of these potential candidates gathered on Monday night to talk about the Ohio race. And they made it VERY clear where they stood on abortion. They ALL favor a national abortion ban.

Bernie Moreno is slightly favored to win. He’s an entrepreneur who seems to think he knows ALL ABOUT women and what makes them tick. And he proudly claimed to know what the REAL problem is as it relates to women and babies.

Strollers. You read that right. Moreno is against abortion rights. What would REALLY help women is if people personally volunteered to lift women’s baby strollers, particularly helping to put them in airplane overheads when flying.

You just can’t make this shit up. Moreno spoke about his own daughter and how nice people were as they rushed to help her store her own baby stroller. They also “helped her with her seat.”

So this is the man Brown might be up against. And this man thinks the problem is not with a woman’s right to choose but with the lack of stroller support from people at airports.

“These are the kinds of things that we can do,” Moreno said fervently, referring to the nice people who rushed to help put his daughter’s baby stroller away.

“Let’s be a pro-mom, pro-family policy.”

Pro – mom? Pro-mom? Are you kidding? Republican men want to stop food stamps. They do not care a bit about poverty and always lose interest in the baby once it’s born. While the baby’s in utero, it’s the GOP’s most precious gift. When the baby’s OUT of utero, it promptly becomes their biggest problem.

Pro-family, my ass! Republican men hate women, hate the poor, and hate themselves. They wish to control every single last inch of a woman’s life. This bizarre rant about baby strollers is simply another deflection. So — back to the conversation about making positive changes in Ohio. We can start by reelecting the BEST of Ohio- Senator Sherrod Brown. Donate to his campaign here.
