This is a huge haul
For the past few weeks the media has been talking loudly about how the very worst of insurrectionist Republicans are being rewarded with record setting campaign donations. Palmer Report urged everyone to put this into proper context, because these days just about everyone is receiving record donations.
Sure enough, ActBlue – which raises money for Democratic candidates – now says it raised a whopping $314 million dollars in the first quarter of this year:

That’s nearly a third of a billion dollars in just one quarter. It’s also nearly twice what ActBlue raised in the first quarter of 2019. So whenever you hear these ominous media reports about the Republicans raising seemingly insurmountable amounts of money, keep in mind that the Democrats are also raising huge amounts of money – it just doesn’t get the same kind of media coverage.
