This is a GREAT DAY for American justice
When Donald Trump broke the news this evening that he’s been criminally indicted by the DOJ, I did what a lot of people do during times of breaking news: I turned on the television in the background. I landed on MSNBC, which is by far the best of the three cable news networks, and yet even multiple people on MSNBC were agreeing that this is a “dark day” in American history because a former U.S. President has been indicted. Sorry, but that’s bullshit.
I don’t want to hear any of this nonsense about how this is a “dark day in American history.” It was a dark day when a career criminal like Donald Trump corruptly took office. It was a dark day when he committed crime after crime while in office. It was a dark day every day that he wasn’t indicted for it. Today is GREAT DAY because he’s finally being brought to justice.
It’s just bizarre how we keep hearing this “dark day” crap from the media – even from media outlets who think Trump’s indictment is a good thing. Do they focus group these kinds of slogans and send out a memo requiring everyone who goes on the air to “agree” with it? Who knows how these networks manage to be so tone-deaf. But this is a GREAT DAY in American history – not simply because we dislike Trump, but because he’s a criminal who’s being brought to justice.
