This is a dumpster fire for South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. Mount Rushmore National Memorial is certainly quite something. Tourists flock to South Dakota to gaze in awe-struct delight at the breathtaking portraits of four of our past Presidents — George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.

Yes, there can be no doubt that Mount Rushmore Memorial is a tower of incredible beauty and something everybody should see at least once. It is one of the things that South Dakota — a relatively small state is known for.

However, after this weekend, the state just might be known for something else — and that is having been nationally humiliated for having a lunatic for a governor.

Kristi Noem. Maga loves Noem. Of course, they do. Noem is a typical Maga Republican; she is a terrible governor, she is pro-life AND gun to the point of insanity, and this weekend, she managed to embarrass her state at the NRA convention thoroughly.

Ah, the NRA convention. The room was full of guns, stupid, babbling Maga Republicans, and much stink — NRA stink as politicians fought with each other to see who could declare their love for the NRA most fervently.

I think Noem might have won THAT race. So let me set the scene. The cameras were there. So was the audience, who looked ready to cry tears of joy at being so close to so many beloved guns simultaneously.

They sat on uncomfortable-looking chairs in a room filled with the sweat of the gun-happy — the hunters and the gatherers of weapons of war, the gun-toting Maga-loving, loony birds who waited patiently to hear their republican heroes speak. And most of them did.

Kristi Noem, however, knocked it out of the park to show the world what an empty soul she really is. Striding onto the stage, sparking as brightly as a new AK-47, Noem proceeded to brag about how children NEED guns.

Indeed Noem said her little daughter already had several guns. Noem’s daughter is two. Just stop, please. Stop, please, and THINK about that. This is the talk of animals, of primitive, primordial cave people.

But Noem was not done. “I am the NRA,” she yelled out, insisting the NRA was a diverse group. Reporters doing their job VERY well this day let their cameras pan the room. And these cameras swiped down on the audience.

And found — old white men. people. Like fields filled with corn husks, so were the chairs of the audience members filled with — old white men. Scores and scores of them. No diversity here.

It was a shameful moment in several of them for the South Dakota Governor. I rarely call out anyone for their parenting skills. I do not feel I have the right. Here I think EVERYONE has the right. A little girl, a TODDLER who, according to Noem, owns WEAPONS — weapons of mass destruction. Noem should be ashamed of herself.
