“This is a disaster” for House Republicans
Things haven’t exactly been going well for House Republicans since the took the majority. They ousted their own Speaker. They’ve been forced to expel a member who’s awaiting criminal trial. They’ve failed again and again to advance any aspect of their agenda.
Now House Republicans have completely jumped the shark by holding a hearing with Special Counsel Robert Hur, who has previously insulted (but exonerated) President Biden. Hur’s testimony was a disaster for the Republicans, and made Biden looked good. Then House Democrats managed to use the whole thing to call out Trump’s cognitive failures.
This sums it up succinctly:
So the bottom line is that Biden is congenial, funny, and actually did remember his son’s date of passing. The transcript and this hearing are real life proof that the Republicans in Congress are broken and have no morals. This is a disaster for them.

“This is a disaster for them” is putting it mildly. Of all the things that have gone terribly wrong for House Republicans throughout 2023 and 2024, this might be their most embarrassing moment to date.
