This Donald Trump Pete Hegseth coverup is getting stupider by the hour

They say that the coverup does more damage than the crime being covered up. It’s debatable whether this is universally true. But it’s definitely true when the people trying to do the covering up are idiots. Which brings us to Donald Trump, Pete Hegseth, and the rest of the bumbling Trump regime.

Thus far we’ve seen such a bungled response to this scandal that it makes the infamously botched Watergate coverup look like a fine tuned operation in comparison. After the story broke, the Trump regime quickly admitted that it was true, and tried to downplay the severity of it. Then Hegseth tried to claim that it was false and that the reporter who received the text messages was making the whole thing up. Then others in the Trump regime admitted it was true. Then Trump White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed that the story was made up. Somewhere in there, Donald Trump publicly admitted he had no idea what was even going on.

One of the first rules for trying to spin anything is that you need to get your story straight with a united front. But these idiots couldn’t even figure out how to do that. They can discuss secret US war plans on the Signal app, but they couldn’t take the time to use the app to discuss their response to the scandal?

Of course the more the Trump regime botches its response to the scandal, the uglier it’ll get for them. This is now becoming a third day story, and it appears destined to remain a major story in the media for days or weeks or even months to come. The more time the Trump regime is forced to spend playing defense on this scandal, the less time it’ll be able to spend carrying out its evil agenda.
