Things just got really interesting in Arizona

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Shifting demographics in Arizona mean that the formerly red state is now essentially up for grabs. The Democrats won the last Senate election there two years ago, and they’re currently on track to win the 2020 Senate election in the state by a large margin. Poll numbers say that Joe Biden has a small lead over Donald Trump in Arizona. Now things are getting really interesting in the state.

Tonight, a new article from the New York Times reveals that various prominent Republicans โ€“ most of whom are no longer in office โ€“ are refusing to support Donald Trump’s 2020 bid. It’s not surprising to learn that former President George W. Bush, for instance, won’t support Trump. But somewhat buried in this article is some news about which Republicans are going to outright endorse Joe Biden.

The article reveals that recently retired Republican Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona is planning to come out in support of Biden. We’re not sure how much or little influence Flake still has over voters at this point. But the article says that Cindy McCain, widow of the late John McCain, is also planning to come out in support of Biden. The McCain family carries significant weight in Arizona โ€“ so this could help put Biden over the top in the state. This is worth watching.
