Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

House Republican George Santos is out on bail awaiting trial on numerous criminal charges, and the Republican-controlled House Ethics Committee has recommended his expulsion. Could things get even worse for him? Well, this happened today:

But George Santos has far bigger problems. House Democrats just introduced a resolution to force a vote on the ethics committee recommendation to expel Santos. That vote could happen as soon as this week. It’s still not clear what the House Republican headcount is in favor of expulsion, but the number is growing.

At this rate Santos could be expelled before the week is over. We need to remain ready to gear up for a special election to replace him. Democratic candidate Anna Kaplan would have a slight edge in such a race, but we’d still need to put in the work to make sure she wins. So let’s stay ready.
