Things are just getting ugly for this Republican candidate for Governor

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

For all the cries about being called “semi-fascist,” Republican candidates seem determined to go all in on making sure that we know they’re actually full-fledged fascists. Doug Mastriano is one of them – being the most outspoken Republican candidate for governor in Pennsylvania and declaring the right to overturn any elections where he isn’t happy with the result. A number of former GOP leaders have already gotten behind his Democratic opponent Josh Shapiro – even if only because his insane statements are likely to cost the party a pivotal election there.

Since winning the nomination, a glaring controversy has come out about Mastriano – the fact that he was somehow involved in the Jan 6 insurrection riot – even if we don’t know how much of a role he played. There is footage of him touring a restricted area of the Capitol grounds and now there’s another piece of evidence that’s even more damning: Mastriano openly praying for the successful overthrow of a democratically elected government along with a group of Christian Nationalists.

Mastriano has largely been avoiding the press and this is a clear indication of why. However, we shouldn’t take this as a guarantee that Josh Shapiro will win – so let’s do what we can to put him and his running mate, U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman over the top today. Both elections are pivotal to maintaining our majority in Congress and also to protecting the future of U.S. elections.
