They’re up to their old tricks again
When they look at us, they don’t see people. When they peer into our psyches, they try their best to dehumanize us, to reduce what they do not understand , our personhood, our laughter, our very beings are anathema to them, we are a million laughing Pandora’s, but they despise our curiosity, our ebullience, our EXISTENCE.
I speak of republican men — and — and — and women. “Rolling Thunder.” Politico has an article out I think you should read. It’s important, for it shows the lengths some of these Republican men will go to, to control, to plunder the precious seas of women’s independence and equality.
There is a new plan festering in the minds of anti-choice Republicans. Allow me to tell you about it. First off — they’re calling it: “The most significant opportunity for the pro-life movement since toppling Roe v. Wade.”
Allow me to make a minor correction. They’re NOT pro-life. They’re anti- choice. They do not give a damn what happens after the baby is born. “Rolling Thunder” is what this idea has been dubbed. Rolling thunder with electric lightning that will hit and strike at– abortion pills.
A recent — VERY recent report published by the Ethics and Public Policy Center, a conservative think tank, came out, talking about the side effects of drugs like Mifepristone. Again, the authors were from a VERY conservative think tank.
This report aims to instill fear about the drug and make it seem as though abortion medications are extremely harmful, with more side effects than had been previously spoken about even though there are more than 100 studies showing their safety, and contradicting this narrative..
Now, you have to understand that the Health Secretary (That’s RFK Jr.) and the FDA Chief have both expressed interest in any new data that comes out on the safety of these drugs.
You see it right? You know where this is going. In a private call last week on Zoom, there was excited chatter about pressuring the “FDA and lawmakers to reconsider, if not suspend, their approval of this medication until they can do more to research into it.”
Ha! Ha! We see their traps, like live minefields, always out there, waiting for WOMEN — only for women. Now listen — we must make people aware of this nefarious plan and call our congress people. With the midterms right around the corner, it is highly important that the American people KNOW about this, KNOW that the GOP once again is up to their old tricks — and not only are they up to their old tricks, they want to trick US — especially women, with this absurd scheme.
