These two idiots deserve each other
I’m often fond of pointing out that when inside information reaches the media, it’s not by happenstance. Most often, one or more people involved in the story decided to leak the information to the media – and there’s always a reason behind that motivation. It doesn’t necessarily mean the information is false. It just means that you have to look at it through the lens of the motivations, bias, and honesty of whoever leaked it.
This brings us to a sort of hilarious story that surfaced in the media a few days ago. The story claimed that Donald Trump reached out to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. about being his potential running mate. At the time it sounded like something that probably wasn’t even true to begin with. And even if it were true that they’d spoken about it, it felt like one of those insanely dumb ideas that even these idiots wouldn’t follow through on.
Sure enough, now the whole thing is falling apart. Trump is now insisting that he and his team did not reach out to RFK Jr, but RFK Jr is still insisting that it did happen. Given that these two guys are both dishonest whack jobs, it’s impossible to know whether it did or didn’t happen. But it is easy to parse at this point that it was probably RFK Jr’s side who leaked to the media that it happened – which means the media shouldn’t have printed it to begin with.
This has now resulted in a situation where Trump and RFK Jr. are calling each other liars and making each other look like fools. Whatever did or didn’t go down behind the scenes to begin with, these two idiots deserve each other.
