These Republicans don’t have a clue

Putin is a clear and present danger to Ukraine. I think we can all agree on that. Can we also agree that the GOP is a clear and present danger to everyone? Since the fighting erupted, we’ve all stood by Ukraine, and most countries are doing all they can to help.

The Russian economy has collapsed. As Ukrainians flee, they are being welcomed with open and loving arms in many countries. And of course, we have Ukrainian President Zelensky, who is showing himself to be an extraordinary man, a hero of epic proportions.

So why do we have inept Republicans repeatedly putting people in danger while doing stupid things that make no sense? We have little Rubio cheerfully tweeting, sharing confidential information during zoom calls with Zelensky. We have Lindsey Graham calling for Putin’s assassination in Twitter.

And of course, not to be outdone for stupidest person in the room, we have assolini joking about starting a war between Russia and China.

Memo to Republicans: We’re not in high school anymore. Yet they act like we are. And it’s concerning.

We have a political non-party with members who appear to treat the Russia and Ukraine conflict as an entertaining football game. It isn’t. There are people dying — even as I write this, they fight. Some die. Some are driven from their homes.

It would appear the ongoing frat-boy mentality of the Republicans mentioned above — plus many others — never ends. They do not appear to take anything seriously, perhaps because they’re not serious politicians.

I do think Rubio and Montana’s Steve Daines, who did the same thing — should be called out for this. I also believe they should never be allowed on another call with Zelensky again. If the GOP can’t ACT seriously, then why treat them seriously? If they want to hang out and crack jokes and engage in stupid actions, okay — just don’t do it on the peoples’ watch.
