These numbers are bad news for Trump world

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

With everything that’s happened during the Trump years, there have been so many different emotions the American people have felt. We’ve been horrified. We’ve been revolted. We’ve been scared. At times it really did feel we were living inside a book — a dark and brutal dystopian nightmare of a book with chapters that seemed at times to have no end.

We’ve cried tears of anger and sadness at what assolini did to our country. We’ve also laughed — with joy — after the monster was toppled. It is no wonder we’re all exhausted. But we’re also keyed up to win the midterms.

One particularly difficult thing has been watching so many Americans get ensnared in a cult. We’ve watched in disbelief at the bubbling anger of the Maga movement – and we’ve despaired over it. But there is some good news on that score.

Per The Hill, there is a new poll out. Morning Consult-Politico did this poll. It asked respondents whether they believed Trump should issue pardons to the January 6 insurrectionists if given the opportunity.

The results were a resounding NO. The poll showed that 68 percent of the people questioned said absolutely not. Twelve percent of people had no opinion. And 20 percent said yes, he should. And of the Trump voters — over half said — no pardons.

This is good news. It shows that Maga is essentially a very small group. We outnumber them vastly. It also shows that MOST — not all but most — people understand the seriousness of January 6 and agree that the people involved need to be punished. Trump’s base is small but vocal. But we need to understand we have the numbers and the passion. And we’re on the right side of history.
