These MAGA loons are more out of control than ever

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Addictions. They can be awful. There are so many types of addictions floating about. There is gambling. There are drugs and alcohol. How about anger?

Anger can be a baleful and dire addiction. Many times anger is portentous. There are warning signs that this menacing darkness is coming for you. However, in many cases, people are not warned or choose not to heed such warnings. And then anger is upon them, merciless in its vice-like grip, holding on with its sinister tentacles until all is lost. Such is the cult of anger. Such is MAGA.

I wrote an article recently about the fundraising emails coming to MAGA from GOP members. In said fundraising emails, MAGA are labeled traitors if they do not give money. Some Trump supporters responded to the article — with anger at the writer — myself. This I found fascinating and worthy of an article.

Why would MAGA get mad at me? I DIDN’T write the fundraising email. On the contrary, I was WARNING of the email. And this goes to my point about addiction.

I believe the cult of Trump has, in fact, virtually nothing to do with Trump. Trump is just a tiny piece of the MAGA pie. I’ve equated the rise of MAGA with the opening of Pandora’s box many times. I believe that all Trump did was permit these people to be themselves. Addictions do not have to be to tangible THINGS or methods of behavior like drinking, taking drugs, gambling. One can be addicted to rage.

If MAGA ever had their own state or country, I do not believe they would be happy. They need opponents. They need to win and own the libs. They need their anger. Their addiction lies not in a particular person but in a behavioral pattern that was smoldering for years and that now has turned into a red-hot storm.
