These CPAC loons are even further gone than we thought
There is nothing like a good old-fashioned horror story to scare the living heck out of us. And there have been, through literature and through film, many frighteningly superb stories made. When producers, directors, authors get it right –it can be deeply satisfying. I’m sure you have your favorites, as do I.
But this month, a horror story is blooming in the state of Texas. And THIS horror story –unrestrained by social norms, free to flourish in the lone-star state, is one you might want to stay away from. It is the Conservative Political Action Conference, also known as CPAC.
CPAC has long attracted the most horrifying, the looniest of the bad actors — but this one is shaping up to be even more of a horror fest than usual. First off, the king of horror — Donald Trump — is set to give the keynote address. That alone is enough to send ripples of terror through any sane person.
It is taking place at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. Be there or be sane and stay away! Among the other members of the cast of the Texas horror story are Greg Abbott, Texas AG Ken Paxton, and in an encore performance, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Topics discussed? The possibilities are endless but sure to be included in the horror lineup — and this is only a guess – are stolen elections, abortion bans, right-wing media, and “owning the libs.”
It will be interesting to see the reception our star of the horror story, Donald Trump, gets. Rumor has it that people are losing interest in Trump. Even Fox and Newsmax no longer show his rallies from beginning to end, which is reportedly pissing Trump off.
The horror story will begin on august 4, ending on August 7. This might be one you want to stay away from. After all, good horror — the best horror — has depth and intelligence — two things which will be in short supply at this motley gathering.
