There’s a crucial election in just TEN DAYS. Let’s go win it!

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

While it’s hard to not have 2024 in the backs of our minds right now, as well as a number of local races, one of the most important races in the country is happening in just a few short weeks in Wisconsin. It’s a non-partisan race, in which neither of the candidates running for an open Supreme Court seat has an R or D attached to their name, but Republicans can’t seem to hide how much they love Judge Dan Kelly, who was formerly appointed to a supreme court seat by former Gov. Scott Walker.

Right now, the moderate state has a supreme court with a 4-3 conservative majority, but this election could change the balance of power, leading to not only significantly fairer maps for 2024, but also decisive votes on issues like reproductive rights – namely overturning the state’s 170-year-old abortion ban, and electors that will actually honor the results of fair elections.

Fortunately, Judge Janet Protasiewicz won the primary decisively with 54% of the vote and has significantly outraised Kelly in the lead up to the April 4 runoff. In the days leading up to April 4, Kelly hasn’t done himself any favors by associating with staunch anti-choice advocates and dancing around a question on whether he’d see a need to recuse himself from crucial supreme court cases – suggesting that he’d gladly turn a blind eye to Republican election schemes, during their only debate together on Thursday. Let’s do everything we can to put Judge Protasiewicz over the top by donating or volunteering for her campaign here.
