As I’ve written before, self-sabotage is an art form for some people. But sometimes, what LOOKS like self-sabotage could be part of a very real, very CONSCIOUS plan — it might not be self-sabotage at all.

For Republican Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska, it looks like he may have figured out the real and conscious plan of some of his Republican colleagues. Bacon was speaking to CNN. And he dropped a bombshell — he said some of the more conservative hardliners really want to be in the MINORITY — not the MAJORITY.

“I think,” Bacon said soberly, “They would prefer that because they could vote no and yell and scream all the time.” What a delightful theory! It is one I agree with. Occasionally — very occasionally — Republicans say something that actually makes sense.

So, let’s look at this theory together. We do know that some of these hardliners can’t and won’t govern. We know their whole schtick is about being political shock-jocks. We also know that they fund-raise off of grievance. Plus they’re all insane. Yes, I think there is something to this theory.

After all — were they in the minority, they could drop all pretense of doing ANY work at all. They could just scream and carry on and fund-raise to their rotten hearts’ content. It might be a fitting place for them to be permanently — in the minority.

And we are here to make it happen! Let’s give these crazies what they want. We can take back the House. We have to because the House is starting to develop mold. That’s what happens when the House owners do nothing but scream, argue, and say the F word.
