The walls are caving in on Donald Trump in real time

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Six months late and far more than a dollar short, John Bolton’s stupid book is still managing to do harm to Donald Trump, at a time when Trump’s sinking approval rating can’t afford to take any more of a beating. And now we’re just weeks away from Mary Trump’s tell-all book. But that’s only half the problem that Trump is facing right now.

Trump is now running lie-filled ads about how Joe Biden is somehow soft on China. But considering the new Bolton revelations about Trump begging China for help with reelection, these ads are a waste of time and money. That’s before getting to the part where Trump has to question whether he can trust Mike Pompeo anymore. This comes even as the House weighs whether to have Bolton belatedly testify. Does Bolton deserve the publicity? Of course not. Could his testimony harm Trump? Of course.

Donald Trump’s approval rating is what’s going to determine his reelection prospects. The real upshot is that Trump’s approval numbers are already being driven lower by his own ongoing failures, such as botching the pandemic and the racial equality movement – even as these external forces are piling on.

On top of it all, Trump appears to have no plan or ability to fight back and dig himself out of the hole he’s in. We’re not going to defeat him unless we put in the hard work to make it happen, such as driving voter registration and voter turnout. But with Trump making no effort to help his own cause, our odds of victory keep going up if we do put in the work.
