The waiting is the hardest part

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Right now we’re waiting for updated vote counts that could reveal the winner in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, and – if you’re siding with the news outlets that haven’t called it yet – Arizona. We think Joe Biden has the edge in all four states, to varying degrees, but we’ll have to wait for the numbers. In the meantime:

– On election night in 2018, I remember thinking we’d never compete in Georgia again, due to the governor’s antics. But thanks to the work that Stacey Abrams has done, Georgia is back in play. Not sure if we’ll win there or not, but huge credit to Stacey for fixing her state.

– I don’t want to be overly presumptive, but I don’t think Kanye West is going to win.

– We are now 0.03% away from a runoff in Georgia between Perdue and Ossoff. Right now our shot at winning the Senate majority literally comes down to 0.03% of the vote in one state. Every vote counts.

– Donald Trump tweeted “ANY VOTE THAT CAME IN AFTER ELECTION DAY WILL NOT BE COUNTED” and Twitter immediately plastered over it with a warning label about it being misleading. Guess it’s Trump’s tweet that won’t be counted.
