The Trump show is over
There is a very simple solution to handling Donald Trump: a method to control his madness. And the other day, AG Letitia James used it.
The thing about bullies like Donald Trump is that they succeed only when they’re not called out. That way, they can continue to terrorize people.
But when they ARE called out, they can do nothing — because bullies, as you know, are the biggest cowards.
They hate being called out. They despise when someone says: Peek-a-boo, I see the REAL Donald Trump.
Jack Smith’s done it with that penetrating stare that must have scared the crap out of the orange bully. But what AG James did the other day is one for the history books.
On the third day of Trump’s fraud trial, Trump spent most of his time muttering and groaning. He also verbally attacked James on Truth Social.
AG James, standing tall like a blazing warrior said: “The Trump show is over!” Calling Trump’s appearance in court both a political stunt and a fundraising stop, James said simply, “I will not be bullied.”
Applause please, and lots of them. See, this is what everyone should do with all things Trump. Let him know he’s been seen — and I’m not talking about his outward appearance; I refer to the bully inside.
We see it. He’s seen for who he is by women,, by LGBTQ people, by black and brown people, by the contractors he stiffed, by the activists he inspires to work tirelessly, by you, by me, by many.
It’s like a game of peek-a-boo — we see you, Donald. No matter where he goes and what he does, the baby– the bully inside who guides his every move — is seen.
And nobody knows Trump better than AG James. She’s a pro at seeing beneath the veneer, of knowing just who and what the real Donald Trump is.
I think, had the GOP taken this same approach YEARS ago, he’d have lost his hold on them. The issue is however that very few like to challenge a bully. It goes back to high school. Did your high school have a bully? Mine sure did.
It is hard, no matter what age one is, to stand up against the bully. Their sole purpose is to inspire fear, and lots of it. Sometimes they do.
And they shouldn’t. Because underneath that foaming-at-the-mouth toxicity, beneath the facade of fake confidence, lies a VERY lonely and sick little bully who can’t interact with humanity except by name calling and with threats.
So thanks, AG James! What James did was challenge the bully. I see you, Donald Trump, she may as well have said. I see your true self, and it’s rotten. And you cannot scare me.
