The stakes just got even higher in the race for Pennsylvania Governor

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Few governor’s races across the country are as crucial to the lifeblood of democracy than the one in Pennsylvania – where Doug Mastriano – the most Trump-like candidate – managed to pull off a primary win while openly declaring that he plans to overthrow the 2024 election if it means keeping the GOP in power.

The race quickly became a Democrat lean in Cook Political Report after Mastriano won the Republican nomination and since that time, he’s made every embarrassing Trumpian move in the book – from hiring the former guy’s incompetent attorney Jenna Ellis to run his campaign, to saying he’d force people within his state to re-register to vote, despite that being illegal.

While overturning elections is at the forefront of his campaign, so is his involvement in the Jan 6 insurrection. While Mastriano claimed that he left the event before it became violent, there’s video evidence to the contrary – showing that he and his wife crossed abandoned police barricades on that day.

It’s even worse when you couple this with the fact that he met with the former guy to discuss turning over Pennsylvania’s 20 crucial electoral votes to the Trump-Pence ticket. Now, six people supporting his campaign have been charged for their participation in the Capitol riot – a piece of information leaking out before Mastriano’s turn to testify before the House Committee.

Fortunately, the people of Pennsylvania have a solid alternative to Mastriano in Democratic candidate and Attorney General Josh Shapiro. Let’s do all we can to support him and bring him over the finish line in November.
