The RNC just imploded
When Donald Trump helped nudge RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel out the door, it wasn’t because of her recent failures; she’d already been leading the charge in losing election cycles for several years. It was because Trump wanted to be able to treat the RNC like even more of a property he can milk and bankrupt.
Sure enough, after Trump installed a new loyalist and his own daughter in law as the new RNC Co-chairs, they’re laying off dozens of RNC staffers while also ditching vendor contracts.
It’s pretty obvious what’s happening here: the RNC is being gutted like any other Trump entity. The only question is whether these people are being laid off so they can be replaced with people Trump owes favors to, or if these positions will now be left vacant so that Trump can steer their would-be salary to himself. Stay tuned. The RNC is about to fall much further.
