The real trouble for Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Have you heard the famous quote: “hurt people hurt people?” I agree with this wholeheartedly. And there is something else. Fearful people hurt people. I want to discuss this fear — the fear that lives in the dark wastelands of whatever passes for the souls of Putin and Trump.

These two men have a great deal in common. Both are evil. Both are undoubtedly sociopaths. And now both are friendless. Indeed, one could argue that they always were friendless. Putin has unleashed destruction — on his own country.

Trump tried to bring down OUR country. It didn’t work. Putin covets what is not his. Trump covets the same — these things, for Trump, being absolute power and respect. Yet neither of these men have the capability to understand that things are the way they are because of their own greed, their seemingly endless desire for power.

Both Putin and Trump are at heart sad little men with holes in their souls and greed in their hearts. And they can’t quench this greed — this hate — no matter what they do. They don’t seem to understand that nothing will ever be enough for them.

This is because they both lack humanity. Neither has anything to their cores. So they plunder, and they scream, and they engage in evil deeds, but all they do is lose — every single time. And now both men are shut off from society — Trump is alone. Always he is alone, and that is not going to change.

The people who praise him would turn on him in a minute if their base demanded it. Trump may try to fool himself into thinking people like him, but he knows the truth, and thus, this is where the hate and disdain for the GOP come from.

And Putin? Reports are he’s angrier than ever. Reports are he is cut-off, alone, isolated, and raging. The whole world pillories him. This is a tale of two men — two odious men destined to try to rage and to lash out — and fail each and every time.
