The real reason the National Guard is in Washington DC for January 6th
The panickers on our side are going to go out of their minds because the National Guard is being called in for January 6th. But it’s DC Mayor Bowser who’s calling them in, specifically to keep Trump’s goons under wraps.
Trump can’t just magically do a military coup. Let’s simmer down on that one. He’s not within a million miles of having the political muscle to pull off something like that, fortunately.
If anything, this is a reminder that your best course of action is to not go anywhere near a protest on January 6th. If Trump’s goons decide to turn violent and want to get themselves arrested, that’s up to them. They’ll be taking the trash out for us.
Wide scale violence is highly unlikely on January 6th. There isn’t going to be a civil war or anything. Trump’s goons have spent the past four years unwilling or unable to get wide scale violence off the ground, and have instead been settling for individual acts of violence. But as long as you stay away from the pro-Trump gatherings on January 6th, they can’t hurt you. Let law enforcement deal with them accordingly.
