The real Project 2025
I have commented in past works, on Jacques Brel’s fantastic anthem, “If We Only Have Love, ” and quoted its lyrics. I’ve done that because the words, though written so very long ago, could have been written yesterday—and they could have been written about the Democratic Party.
I sometimes let my inner child come out to play as I delightedly contemplate the song and wish it could be the song of the Democratic party. It’s that good. We win the way we always have — with love. The GOP is nothing but hate. When one breaks it down to its most base level, it really is a story of love against hate.
So, how do we let love rule in 2025? One commonly held belief is that Democrats have no voice on podcasts. Rubbish! We do, but these voices must—they MUST—become louder. One podcast that has been growing in listeners is Meidas Touch. The raw data shows that Meidas is catching up with Joe Rogan. People are tuning in.Lots of them..
As usual, most of the media, (not us), are once again asleep at the wheel, eyes closed in a sleeping beauty trance, undoubtedly dreaming of all the clicks and ratings they need, clicks and ratings that aren’t coming.
Everyone reading this might want to consider signing up for Meidas and tell others to also listen to the podcast. Our voices are strong. They must be more assertive. We must fill the podcast airwaves with love.
I want 2025 to be a new start for all of us. We have the numbers. We have the enthusiasm. And more than ANYTHING — and if I were speaking this article rather than writing it, you’d hear the lyrical note of passion in my voice — more than anything, we have the IDEAS.
Political parties are nothing without ideas which is why the GOP screws up every time they try to govern – because they’re out of ideas.
